If you are fascinated by Taiwanese high mountains or beautiful seashore, or if you’ve been concerned about environmental issues, then you probably heard of the name Po-lin Chi already. Chi is known as a passionate aerial photographer as well as an award-winning director of the unprecedented documentary Beyond Beauty – TAIWAN FROM ABOVE. A devastating helicopter crash in 2017 claimed Chi’s life, however, his dedication to environmental protection has been passed down to influence many people on the island.
Being one of those inspired by Chi, The Rejuvenis Group (TRG), a Taiwanese choir, decided to cooperate with Chi Po-lin Foundation to plan a concert titled Our Land, Our Story & Our Voice in the attempt to integrating the expertise of both parties to create a rich audio-visual experience. “If Mr. Chi Po-lin had opened our eyes, then TRG would like to open the audience’s ears through our voice and the unique sound from this island. Through the diverse sensory experience, we hope to lead the audience to get to know Taiwan from a new perspective, and move them with stories of this land. Hope they will walk out the concert hall with determination of practice so to contribute to environmental sustainability,” according to Swing Hsieh, the Art Director and Conductor of TRG.
Our Land, Our Story & Our Voice features Taiwan’s various culture and the common emotions of mankind. The repertoire mainly consists of choral works by outstanding Taiwanese composers and depicts the beauty of Taiwan from its mountains, seas, cities and humanities. The concert will be held at 19:30 on March 25 at the National Concert Hall (No. 21-1 Zhongshan South Road, Zhongzhen District, Taipei).
“Whether you are a seasoned music fan or a new comer to the choral music world, I’m sure you’ll find your own resonance in this concert. So, come join us, ” said Hsieh. Get your seat now through OPENTIX: https://reurl.cc/263Nk9
