THIMPHU, BHUTAN / TAIPEI, TAIWAN
A peace-prayer assembly organized under the auspices of His Majesty the King of Bhutan gathered leading Buddhist figures from around the world.
For this event, Venerable Master Da-Hui, Chairman of One Buddha One World Organization and Abbot of Kuang-Shiu Chan Monastery, also Chairman of the Taichung Buddhist Association, was invited to attend as the representative of Chinese Buddhism from Taiwan, through the arrangements of Tulku Gongkar Tendzin Rinpoche.
Rinpoche stated that His Majesty the King compassionately convened this World Peace Prayer Grand Ceremony so that different Buddhist traditions from across the globe could gather to offer blessings for all beings.
He expressed his hope that, with the combined blessings of eminent masters, the world may achieve harmony, disasters be removed, wars cease, and all beings attain peace and happiness.
Tulku Gongkar Tendzin Rinpoche descends from a sacred lineage traditionally associated with the reincarnational family of Maitreya Bodhisattva.
He has visited Taiwan to teach the Dharma and is deeply trusted by the Royal Family of Bhutan.
His Majesty the King has entrusted Rinpoche with the leadership of the Bhutan Royal Nuns’ Buddhist Institute.
Furthermore, in 2025, a Royal Decree was granted to empower Rinpoche to establish a Maitreya Temple in Gelephu, creating a sacred site embodying the compassionate vow-power of Maitreya and becoming a beacon of peace and hope for the world.

Rinpoche explained that there were many reasons for hosting the World Peace Prayer Grand Ceremony.
One of them is the development of the Mindfulness City Project in southern Bhutan, with the Maitreya Temple at its spiritual center.

He emphasized that those aspiring toward Buddhahood must form a profound connection with Maitreya and cultivate this sacred karmic bond.
Rinpoche also expressed that through the establishment of the Gelephu Maitreya Temple, he hopes to spread seeds of mindfulness and peace across the world, allowing it to become a stabilizing force for humanity.
