Founded in France, Forvis Mazars is a global accounting and consulting firm with over 40,000 professionals across more than 140 countries. To mark its 4th anniversary in Taiwan and the relocation of its office, Forvis Mazars Taiwan hosted a grand opening ceremony 18th. Managing Partner Chang Feng-Kan expressed that the firm has laid a solid foundation over the past four years and looks forward to continuing to provide high-quality services in the future.

Reflecting on its early days, Chang and a small team initially worked alongside startups in a shared office space. During the pandemic, they played a key role in issuing Taiwan’s first e-invoice for one of the country’s fastest-growing B2C companies. Over time, Forvis Mazars expanded its service scope, covering financial and tax advisory, transfer pricing reports, tax treaties, and various tax exemptions. Today, it has evolved into a full-service accounting firm offering business registration, tax certification, due diligence, and payroll outsourcing services.

As the firm grew, Forvis Mazars recruited experienced accountants and leveraged its international network spanning over 140 countries. This enabled the firm to assist clients with overseas mergers and acquisitions, tax advisory, and non-audit services for publicly listed companies in Taiwan. Chang noted that the firm has recently received approval from Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) to certify financial statements for listed companies and is currently applying for PCAOB certification in the U.S., demonstrating its commitment to advancing professional services.

Within just three years, the firm has relocated twice, expanding from an initial three-person team to 35 employees. Embodying the spirit of “There is no best, only better,” Forvis Mazars aims to further enhance service quality in its new office space. Regarding Taiwan’s competitive market and the rise of AI-driven digitalization, Chang believes that while technology can improve efficiency in auditing and tax research, professional judgment and advisory expertise remain irreplaceable. Moving forward, Forvis Mazars plans to expand its financial advisory and legal services to provide Taiwanese businesses with more comprehensive global support.

Although Forvis Mazars officially entered the Taiwan market four years ago, it has been operating locally for over a decade. With increasing international client demand in Taiwan, the firm decided to establish a direct presence. Jean-Francois Salzmann, Managing Partner of Forvis Mazars Japan, highlighted that the firm initially collaborated with local partners. However, as demand for direct services grew, they opted to establish a Taiwan firm and recruit top local professionals. “Our goal is not only to better serve foreign clients but also to support Taiwanese businesses in expanding their export capabilities, establishing overseas operations, and increasing global influence,” he stated.

Rick Chan, Managing Partner of Forvis Mazars Singapore, also attended the event from Singapore, sharing his insights on the Taiwan market and global business trends. He observed that Taiwanese companies are actively expanding internationally, and Forvis Mazars, with its extensive global network, is well-positioned to provide the necessary resources and assistance. As the firm inaugurates its new Taiwan office, he emphasized that the upgraded space symbolizes the company’s growth and international aspirations. Forvis Mazars remains committed to fostering a diverse, open, and modern corporate culture, delivering world-class consulting services to the Taiwan market.
