The gathering was solemn and harmonious.

At the meeting, Venerable Master Da Hui presented His Eminence with a calligraphy work titled “World Peace,” written in seal script by Master Pan Pei-chun, symbolizing the aspiration to end wars worldwide and bring peace and happiness to all beings. Secretary-General William Chang offered the English edition of The Diamond Sutra Explained in Plain Language, published by One Buddha One World and written by the organization’s spiritual mentor Venerable Master Miao Chan, in the hope of fostering international Buddhist exchange through the written word.

Currently, One Buddha One World is advancing an AI-assisted translation project, dedicated to translating major Mahayana Buddhist scriptures into multiple languages, so that the wisdom of the Buddha may benefit people around the world.

During the conversation, both sides conducted an in-depth exchange on the current state of Buddhism in Taiwan and Russia. His Eminence expressed strong interest in the thriving Buddhist community, the spirit of practice, and the development of temples in Taiwan, while sharing the historical background and present situation of Russian Buddhism. Russian Buddhism has a history of more than 260 years, rooted in the Vajrayana tradition with an unbroken lineage of reincarnated Rinpoches. At present, there are 47 monasteries and approximately 1.5 million followers throughout Russia.

The two leaders also discussed the new challenges facing contemporary Buddhism. With the rise of new religions and diverse ideologies, Dharma propagation among younger generations has become increasingly difficult. Both Venerable Master Da Hui and His Eminence agreed that by upholding Right View as the foundation and exploring teaching methods aligned with the modern human mind, Buddhism can resonate more deeply, rekindling its light around the world and transcending cultural and religious barriers.

His Eminence expressed deep appreciation for One Buddha One World’s long-standing commitment to “spreading the authentic Dharma and upholding Right View,” and looked forward to future collaboration to jointly advance the development of Buddhism and world peace. This, they agreed, is the original aspiration and enduring mission of One Buddha One World since its founding.
